Panelized Log Sided homes have pre-built walls with window and door openings already installed. The walls are stood on the foundation and the exterior is wrapped and sided with log, clapboard or sheet type siding. The interior is insulated and wall coverings like sheetrock applied. If the home is log sided; matching tongue and groove pine is installed in the interior to complete the log look. There are several advantages to a Log Sided home:
- Speed of assembly on the building site with corresponding construction cost savings.
- Log Sided Panelized packages do not settle and the siding does not develop shallow cracks like whole logs do. The log sided home looks exactly like a log home inside and out with less cost and more decorating flexibility on the inside.
- A better fit and finish than stick built home as the walls are built in a shop, under controlled conditions with less potential for error than a field framing.
